Not secondment

This is not secondment. Our developers work from our own office in Utrecht, surrounded by colleagues who review their work and think along. They join your meetings and fit into your way of working, and come to you for a day or a meeting when that helps. You get someone who feels like part of your team, with a whole team behind them.
The difference from secondment: you are not hiring one person who sits alone in your office. Your developer stays part of the Chief team, so on a tricky architecture question or an unfamiliar technology, your developer can fall back on colleagues with different experience.
- Developers in your team. Does your team need extra capacity or experience, for a tight deadline or a new platform, say? Then our developers build alongside your team on the front end, the back end or both, within your planning and way of working.
- Coaching your team. Our developers share their knowledge and coach team members, so your team can carry on building on its own afterwards. That also works when you move to an AI-supported way of working, including colleagues without a developer background.
- Tech lead and management advice. A tech lead from Chief provides technical leadership for your product or project, leads a renewal from architecture to implementation where needed and acts as a sounding board for your management.

How we strengthen your team
Senior developers in your team
Our developers work within your planning, your codebase and your meetings. The Chief team works with .NET, React and Angular on Azure or AWS, as well as iOS and firmware. Because our developers want to understand your business case first, they can then pick up work independently. You can start with one developer and decide together whether more are needed as the work grows.
Coaching your team
We share knowledge while we work: reviewing code together, solving problems together and agreeing a way of working that keeps going without us. The aim is a team that carries on building independently after our coaching. Coaching can run alongside hands-on work or as a separate role, for example when your team adopts a new way of working.
Technical leadership
As tech lead we safeguard the architecture and the quality of the development work and give the team direction. We weigh up choices and risks in advance and record decisions. We do this together with your own developers, and the final calls stay with your directors: the product remains yours.
Management advice and fractional CTO
No CTO, or not right now? We translate your business goals into a technical roadmap and advise on technology choices, security and scalability. We act as a sounding board for your management and will also tell you what you are better off not building. And when something needs renewing, we lead it from architecture to implementation.

You choose the role that fits now. If your situation changes, we adapt the collaboration to match. A developer can later take on the tech lead role, or technical leadership can scale back to coaching once your own team takes over.
