JEX is a Rotterdam-based software company that helps staffing agencies and other B2B businesses grow. Staffing agencies outsource their back office to JEX, from payroll and invoicing to contract management and paying freelancers. Temporary workers manage their own details and documents in the My JEX app. JEX also develops a sales platform that helps B2B businesses win new customers consistently.

JEX was growing fast and decided to sell company shares to investors to keep funding that growth. The shares are not listed on a stock exchange, but investors still wanted to see how their investment was doing. That called for a dedicated online trading platform where securities could be bought, traded and followed. The platform also had to be suitable for offering to third parties under their own brand.
JEX wanted to manage securities, contracts, offerings and investors from a single admin environment. Key actions had to be verifiable, with a full audit trail and approval under the four-eyes principle. New investors and organisations had to be able to sign up online and be reviewed by JEX.
JEX also wanted details of temporary workers, clients and placements to end up in AFAS, the package JEX uses for its HR and payroll administration, without manual re-entry.
Chief developed JEXchange, a trading platform made up of three environments: a portal for investors, a back office for organisations that issue securities through the platform, and an admin environment for JEX. Investors register online, follow their portfolio and place buy and sell orders, including on new offerings. Organisations join by invitation, complete an onboarding questionnaire and, once JEX has approved them, create their own offerings.
In the admin environment, JEX manages shares, bonds, loans, prices, contracts and users. JEX reviews new registrations and offerings. Changes to user management need four-eyes approval, and an audit trail records changes. Bank details are checked automatically against uploaded documents. Reports and exports can be downloaded directly.
Over the years Chief maintained and modernised the platform, keeping it technically up to date. For the JEX back office, Chief also built an integration that registers temporary workers, clients and placements in AFAS automatically, without manual entry.
With JEXchange, JEX investors see their securities, transactions and the performance of their investment in one place. They register online, place orders on new offerings and download their own reports. Organisations that issue securities through the platform manage their offerings, investors and transactions in their own back office.
The JEX team manages all securities, investors and contracts from a single environment. New registrations and offerings are reviewed by JEX first. The four-eyes principle and the audit trail make changes traceable, and exports support the administration.
From 2021 onwards, Chief built, maintained and modernised JEXchange and so provided continuity for the platform. With the integration, temporary workers, clients and placements could be recorded in AFAS without manual entry.
With JEXchange, JEX has its own trading platform where investors follow their portfolio and place orders, while the JEX team manages all securities, offerings and contracts verifiably from a single environment.
